SC4’s 90th year

SC4’s 90th anniversary of educating the Blue Water Area is coming up this June.

The college is celebrating by creating a Facebook Timeline of pictures and events that are posted by past and present students. Dr. Kevin A. Pollock is heading up the anniversary celebration by urging alumni to submit pictures and memorabilia of the past and share SC4’s rich heritage.

SC4 was founded in 1923, and was originally named Port Huron Junior College; the college had thirty-four students, six faculty, and sixteen classes upon inception. The school changed its name to Saint Clair County Community College in 1967, and currently educates over 4700 students and offers over 60 certificate and degree programs.

During commencement in May, an alumnus from each of the nine decades will be honored along with the 2013 graduating class; and in July, a 3-day homecoming will be presented.
