It’s going to be Chilly

Boredom is the fear of self. Boredom can be described as a pandemic among SC4 students during the winter semester. From the lack of activities to do during off time, to weather that makes us lose motivation to even attempt to do something worthwhile, there are a variety of causes.

This year, Downtown Port Huron is fighting back boredom with the 2013 “Chilly Fest.” On Jan. 25 and 26, the Port Huron Recreation Department will be hosting various events in the heart of downtown to spark a little fun in the lives of Port Huron residents.

Local businesses will be taking part in many activities such as providing cocoa for the 2013 “Cocoa Crawl,” live entertainment and a downtown Port Huron Restaurant Collective “Chili Cook Off,” which will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26 between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

If that wasn’t enough, ice sculptures from the Food Network show “Ice Brigade” will be creating all the sculptures on the “Chilly Fest” illuminated Ice Trail. “Ice Brigade” will also be performing sculpting demos throughout Friday.
