In a spirit of giving, the St. Clair Community College support staff hosted their annual Silent Auction, Craft and Bake Sale on Tuesday, Dec. 6.
The auction raised $1,637 in total, according to Shawn Starkey, Executive Director of Public Relations and Marketing and Legislative Affairs.
Having run from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the SC4 College Center Café, the auction raises proceeds for the Educational Support Personnel Scholarship Fund, and for a selected charity or charities. This year, the Hunter Hospitality House was chosen. According to Starkey, $818.50 went to each.
Themed gift baskets, containing small gifts, non-perishable food, or holiday items, were available for bid during the silent auction. Crafts, baked goods, and previously viewed DVDs and VHS tapes were sold throughout the auction.
