Support our soldiers

GloWorks Imports, a new store located by American Eagle at Birchwood Mall in Port Huron, is hosting an in-store event to help our troops that are overseas.

The store is collecting items that are in high demand by soldiers such as gloves, bug spray, or prepaid phone cards. All donations are 100% tax-deductible and can be dropped off in-store until December 20th.

The store is also collecting written letters to be sent to those in the service.

Ashley Gouweloos is the manager of GloWorks Imports at the Birchwood Mall.

“I’m shocked by the amount of support from the community as well from the stores in Birchwood. I’m really impressed with the consideration and what people have donated,” said Gouweloos.

“Hope for Our Hometown Heroes” is partnered with Operation Care Package Michigan (OCPM), a non-profit organization.

According to the OCPM website, 100% of proceeds go toward the cause.   “They have really gone above and beyond to help out and assist us with the event,” said Gouweloos about OCPM.
