Entertainment that is worth the buck.

If you are looking for some good entertainment for a low price this summer, you might consider The Barn Theater, located in Port Sanilac.

Come prepared for a good time.

The actors are all volunteers so they don’t get paid, but they are as good as professionals.

In June I attended a performance of “The 39 Steps” a 1939 Alfred Hitchcock short story that was made into a play.

The story is about a man that gets dragged into an unwilling when he meets a beautiful spy with an unusual accent and takes her home. While there, she gets murdered. He gets accused of that murder and has to go on the run, all while being chased by some very shady policeman. In the mean time he meets and falls in love with a young girl whom gets entangled in the mix and goes on the run with him.

The play was enjoyable and very funny. Worth the buck to see.

Unfortunately “The 39 Steps” is no longer playing this year, but you still have time to see a number of new shows coming up. For example this weekend you can still catch: “Arsenic & Old Lace” playing Aug 4-6 and 11-13, “Brothers Grim Spectacularathon” playing Aug 18-20, “The Nerd” playing Aug 25-27 and Sept 1-3.

All show are $10 per person and show time is 8:00pm.

Be prepared for a full house. Tickets sell fast, but you can call for reservations.
