“Week of the Living Dead”

Zombies, zombies everywhere!

Production Editor

The week before Halloween will be jam packed with Zombie-related events sponsored by various SC4 clubs.

Oct. 26 is the day of Zombie Walk, a canned-food drive that last year collected over 300 pounds of food and $70 in donations for the local food depot. Members of The Erie Square Gazette, Zombie Defense Council, WSGR, and Student Government are participating in the event. Boxes will be available around campus and at local area businesses as soon as Oct. 10. Students participating in the zombie walk will dress as zombies for the final collection.

A zombie-themed bake sale, presented by the Zombie Defense Council, will take place in the main building between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 27. Following the bake sale, the ZDC will host a zombie movie marathon and costume party on Oct. 29 from 3- 9 p.m. in room 201 of the CEM.  Movies shown will be “Plan 9 from Outer Space,” “The Last Man on Earth” and “Snake People” along with other short films. A costume contest, games, and other activities will also take place.

Finally Oct. 30 the Zombie Defense Council will be a part of the Port Huron Recreation Department Halloween Stroll, distributing candy to children, from 11:30am-3:00pm in Sanborn Park in Port Huron.

“All students are encouraged to participate; it is a great way to relieve stress,” said Twana Pinskey, Editor-in-Chief of the Erie Square Gazette.
